WISEPlace is the only Orange County-based nonprofit focused on ending homelessness for unaccompanied women. Its mission is to "lead the effort of ending homelessness for unaccompanied women through housing solutions & empowering wrap-around services that provide a path toward personal self-reliance." Its unique name stands for "Women," "Inspired," "Supported," and "Empowered."
WISEPlace's services include:
Employment Assistance: resume development, job coaching, interview preparation, & professional clothing
Socialization: a variety of events such as yoga, art healing, & bingo to promote socialization and overall wellbeing.
Health & Wellness: proactive support to stabilize health & wellness, and to secure access to medical services.
Addiction Recovery: interactive support groups, led by a licensed facilitator, to overcome any addiction (drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc.)
Financial Planning: financial literacy, budgeting, personal savings, & taxes.
Housing Assistance: building a housing plan backed by supportive resources such as rental deposits, moving fees, & home furnishing.
WISEPlace serves unaccompanied women experiencing homelessness who often lack the support system of a spouse, significant other, or children. It’s a population that is severely under-served and overlooked nationally and locally. 30% of the homeless population are unaccompanied women, so WISEPlace is here to help.

What a fantastic resource for women! It is shocking & shameful that nearly 1/3 of unhoused people are single women, who are hardly ever violent or dangerous, but most often themselves the victims of abuse. Thank you WISEPlace & ProjectWHY!
